Dogs for allergy sufferers can be difficult to find - an allergy trial is really the only way to find out if you will be able to keep an American Hairless Terrier as a pet. The best place to do the trial is in our home where our dogs live, eat and sleep. There will be realistic build up of dander - even the cleanest of homes with AHT’s around will have dander floating around.

A Remote Trial allows someone with allergies to experience the dander of an American Hairless Terrier under the controlled conditions of their own home. The dog itself is not present just a sample of it’s dander. A remote trial does not replace the “Live” Trial but is more of a preliminary test to give an indication of how a “Live” trial may go. The procedure is really quite easy just 3 simple steps
You will wear one of the t-shirts at a time, making a note of the number of the bag and any allergic reactions.
If you DO react, you’ll know an American Hairless Terrier is probably not for you
If you DON’T react, you may procede with a “Live” Trial.

In order for you to have a successful "dogs for allergy sufferers" trial we need to have some information from you about you and your allergies. The questionnaire below helps set up a allergy trial environment best suited to your needs.
You will spending up to five hours with our adult dogs and puppies in their home environment. This amount of time will give you a fair indication of how you might tolerate living with an American Hairless Terrier. No amount of time however can guarantee that you will be able to have a dog in your house 24/7 without any reactions. Even if you typically react within 5 minutes to other breeds, it may take several hours to an American Hairless Terrier.

Depending on the level of success of your allergy trial, you may wish to continue on and buy a puppy. This is a life changing step which may require further physical changes to your home as well as adaptations in behaviour to promote successful integration of a dog into your life. Please read our allergy advice page for further details.
